Since launching in July, 2016, Confluence Festival of India, the most significant showcase of Indian art and culture ever in Australia, has drawn huge crowds and unprecedented levels of interest in the Australian community and among Indian Diaspora.
In his festival message, Mr. Navdeep Suri, the High Commissioner of India in Australia described the festival as, “Some of the finest elements from the rich tapestry of Indian culture and civilisation for our friends in Australia.”
Indian culture and civilisation is now – more than ever – in focus in Australia, especially as Diaspora networks have also emerged as critical channels for influencing business outcomes. A recently published ACOLA (Australian Council of Learned Academies) report highlighted just this fact.
To paraphrase, the ACOLA study concluded that Australian businesses need to be able to utilise all available resources to take advantage of opportunities for growth. Cross cultural and international business relations are only further strengthened by people to people links across diverse areas including arts – as in the Confluence Festival of India – as well as industries as diverse as science, culture, business and trade.
